Harassment in the Workplace

When is it Harassment?

Harassment rears its ugly head in many forms and to ensure a respectful work environment, everybody needs to be aware of what behaviours are classified as being harassment and what the consequences are for such behaviours in order to prevent or eliminate disrespectful behaviour.

Everyone has the right to dignity and respect but, are people taking responsibility for ensuring that this is the case?

Do they know what constitutes harassment or do they think that harassment only applies in the form of  sexual harassment?

We will explore this contentious topic and look to answer these questions:

  • What is harassment?
  • What policies do you have in place for an employee or learner who feels that they are being harassed?
  • Can you dismiss a person for harassment?
  • To what extent to I have to go to protect staff from harassment?
