Regional Finance Manager

Regional Finance Manager (Tourism) — Nairobi, Kenya

A role for a steady, strategic financial leader who thrives in complexity, partnership and purpose.

This is an opportunity to lead the full finance function across a multi‑site, high‑performance East African operation. The Regional Finance Manager holds ultimate accountability for financial governance, commercial sustainability and operational integrity across Kenya — partnering closely with senior leadership to ensure the region remains resilient, compliant and positioned for long‑term growth.

If you are a hands‑on, commercially minded finance leader who can translate numbers into meaningful operational action, this role offers both challenge and impact.

What You’ll Lead

  • Financial Governance & Control:  Take full ownership of financial accuracy, compliance and reporting integrity across the region. This includes strengthening internal controls, ensuring adherence to group policies, and acting as the primary financial authority for operational teams.
  • Operational & Commercial Partnership:  Work shoulder‑to‑shoulder with Managing Directors, General Managers and Lodge Managers to improve profitability, efficiency and decision‑making. This includes mentoring senior leaders, supporting pricing and cost control, and bringing a clear commercial lens to operational plans.
  • Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting : Lead annual budgets, forecasts, long‑range planning and refurbishment models. You’ll also deliver monthly management accounts, variance analysis and actionable insights that guide strategic and operational decisions.
  • Systems, Controls & Risk Management : Design and refine financial systems and processes across Sage, Panstrat, Tourplan and related platforms — ensuring scalability, data integrity and robust risk mitigation.
  • Banking, Cashflow & Treasury : Oversee payments, liquidity, cashflow forecasting and banking relationships, ensuring the region remains financially stable and well‑positioned.
  • Capex Oversight:  Manage project budgets, track expenditure, identify overruns and maintain accurate capex planning and reporting.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and develop finance, payroll and tax teams, while also upskilling operational leaders to better understand and use financial systems, controls and reports.

  • Accurate, timely and insightful financial reporting
  • Strong governance and compliance across all operations
  • Sustainable regional profitability and commercial resilience
  • Improved operational efficiency and decision‑making
  • Scalable systems and controls that support growth
  • Effective audits and clean financial statements
  • A confident, capable finance team with strong succession depth

What You Bring

  • B.Comm (Acc) or equivalent; CPA (K), ACCA or similar
  • 12+ years finance experience, including 5+ years in leadership
  • Experience in multi‑site operations
  • Hospitality, tourism, safari or remote‑operations experience is advantageous
  • A leadership style that balances technical excellence with partnership, mentorship and commercial clarity
