Assistant General Manager

Assistant General Manager | Luxury Safari Lodge, Maasai Mara, Kenya

This is more than a lodge management role. It is an opportunity to help lead one of East Africa’s most celebrated luxury safari experiences, nestled on a private wildlife concession bordering the iconic Maasai Mara National Reserve.

We are seeking an exceptional Assistant General Manager to partner with the General Manager in overseeing the operations of two world-class luxury safari camps. This role calls for a dynamic hospitality leader who thrives in remote environments, leads from the front, and is passionate about delivering unforgettable guest experiences while championing conservation, community engagement, and people development.

If you combine commercial acumen with genuine warmth, operational excellence with inspiring leadership, and have a deep appreciation for wilderness hospitality, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

As Assistant General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the overall leadership, performance, and guest experience across both camps. Acting as the General Manager’s second-in-command, you will help drive operational excellence, financial performance, team development, and service innovation, while ensuring every guest journey exceeds expectations.

You will also assume full responsibility for the property and teams during periods when the General Manager is away.

  • Oversee maintenance projects and ensure facilities consistently meet luxury hospitality standards.
  • Drive operational systems, reporting platforms, and best practices.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, security, and risk management protocols.

  • Assist in developing, managing, and achieving annual operating budgets.
  • Work closely with finance teams to monitor performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive cost-control initiatives without compromising guest experience or service quality.

  • Champion sustainability initiatives throughout the operation.
  • Support community development projects and local stakeholder partnerships.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with conservation bodies, government agencies, local communities, and industry partners.
