How You Will Make an Impact
You will oversee the complete financial ecosystem of the lodge. We are looking for someone with a mindset of “professional scepticism”—someone who doesn’t just record numbers, but actively analyzes, questions, and optimizes business spend.
- Financial Management & Analysis
- Ensure correct authorization/allocation of expenditure, questioning costs to ensure they are fair and within market range.
- Record day-to-day transactions accurately on the Panstrat system and manual setups.
- Interpret management accounts, resolve general ledger queries, and clear balance sheet/inter-lodge reconciliations.
- Oversee payroll preparation, supplier payments, and stock sheet management.
- Strategic Reporting & Budgets
- Meet strict non-negotiable monthly finance deadlines and compile budgets/quarterly forecasts.
- Drive monthly financial performance meetings with lodge leadership and provide feedback to the Regional Finance Manager.
- Coordinate year-end audits and assist Lodge Managers/Directors with financial queries.
- Supervise and mentor direct reports to ensure high-performance standards.
- Internal Controls & Asset Safeguarding
- Manage month-end stock takes, maintain strict stock controls, and conduct spot checks/internal audits.
- Take full custody of petty cash, mobile wallets, and lodge bank accounts.
- Audit safari shop systems and maintain impeccable documentation.
- Investigate and immediately report any internal control breaches to prevent asset loss.
- Team Training
- Empower lodge staff by training them on basic accounting principles, PanStrat, and Front of House systems.

Your Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: A 3-year Finance Degree or relevant accounting qualification (CPA preference will be highly regarded).
- Experience: 3 to 4 years of solid financial experience, ideally within a hospitality or lodge environment.
- Systems: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel is essential). Experience with PanStrat is a major plus.
- Languages: Fluent in English (both written and spoken) with excellent communication skills.
- Key Attributes: Strong critical thinking skills, patience, a results-driven mindset, and the confidence to challenge expenses independently.
