Relief Travel Specialist

Relief Travel Specialist

Step into a role where service excellence, creativity, and seamless guest experiences are at the heart of everything you do. If you thrive in a fast‑paced, detail‑driven environment and love crafting unforgettable journeys across Africa, this is your next move.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be the steady, capable specialist who keeps the engine running — stepping in confidently whenever a consultant is away and ensuring every guest journey continues without interruption.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Managing full consultant desks during leave periods — requotes, proposals, follow‑ups, everything.
  • Assisting with brochure quotes and educational bookings (hosted and agent).
  • Working closely with Sales to ensure educational trips run flawlessly.
  • Supporting system and process improvements, including testing new tools.
  • Chasing provisional bookings and reviving “dead leads” during quieter periods.
  • Loading bookings during peak seasons to support the wider team.
  • Designing creative, well‑crafted itineraries across Southern & East Africa.
  • Communicating clearly and consistently with agents, suppliers, colleagues, and sales teams.
  • Participating in rotational emergency duty and weekly early/late shift cycles.
  • Delivering calm, professional service — even under pressure.

What You Bring

  • A passion for exceptional guest service.
  • Strong knowledge of Southern & East Africa (advantageous).
  • Experience with Tourplan, WETU, and MS Office (Tourplan highly advantageous).
  • Understanding of travel industry channels and markets.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to make sound decisions.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a collaborative mindset.

Your Experience

  • 3–5 years inbound tour consulting experience is essential.
  • You’re methodical, detail‑oriented, curious, and resilient.
  • You work well under pressure, handle routine tasks with discipline, and bring high energy to your day.
  • You’re adaptable, decisive, and able to persist through challenges.

Who You Are

  • Warm, people‑focused, and passionate about guest delight.
  • A natural team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Self‑motivated, deadline‑driven, and organised.
  • Someone who shares knowledge generously and inspires others.
  • Driven by purpose and service — not just targets.

❤️ Why This Role Matters

You’ll be part of a team dedicated to uplifting people, preserving wild places, and protecting the animals that make Africa unique.
