Senior Groups and Incentives Travel Designer

Senior Groups and Incentives Travel Designer

Hybrid Position – Johannesburg or Cape Town

This is an invitation to join a global pioneer in impact-led tourism. Over and above operating camps, this award wining organization protects the world’s last wild places through high-end, sustainable hospitality. Working here means aligning your professional expertise with a deep-rooted mission of conservation and luxury standards, all while operating within a world-class hub located in the heart of Johannesburg or Cape Town.

The Modern Workspace: Our Client believes in the power of collaboration and the freedom of flexibility. This role follows a hybrid model, requiring three days of in-office synergy with two days (Mondays and Fridays) of focused remote work.

The Profile:

We are looking for a “Master of the Mosaic.” You are a senior-level travel professional who views a 40-person incentive group not as a logistical hurdle, but as a canvas for a masterpiece. You possess the rare ability to balance the high-pressure demands of MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) with the delicate touch required for high-net-worth individuals. You are a consultative storyteller who builds trust through insight, a self-starter with infectious energy, and someone who thrives when the stakes—and the guest expectations—are at their peak.

The Mission

Success in this role is measured by the delivery of “flawless.” You will curate bespoke group journeys across Southern and East Africa, ensuring every itinerary is logistically sound and creatively daring. Your mission involves:

  • Designing the Extraordinary: Crafting compelling, eye-catching proposals that convert complex RFPs into confirmed, high-value bookings.
  • Relationship Architecture: Building enduring, trust-based partnerships with international agents and internal operations specialists.
  • Onsite Command: Transitioning from the boardroom to the bush, providing onsite program management to ensure the vision is executed perfectly on the ground.
  • Commercial Precision: Managing margins and costings with a sharp eye for financial health, ensuring that “exceptional” is also “sustainable”.

The Essentials

To be considered for this high-calibre appointment, you must bring:

  • Experience: 6 to 10 years of senior-level experience specifically within luxury groups and incentives travel.
  • Regional Expertise: Deep knowledge of Southern and East African destinations, including Botswana, Rwanda, Namibia, and Kenya.
  • Technical Fluency: Proficiency in TourplanExcel (complex formulas/costings), and itinerary tools like WETU and Smartbox.
  • Operational Grit: Proven experience in onsite group management and post-travel reconciliation.
  • Education: A Matric with Mathematics and a tertiary qualification in Travel, Tourism, or Hospitality.

The Invitation

If you are ready to design the future of conservation through the lens of luxury travel, Innovation Advance invites you to start the conversation.
