Senior Travel Designer

Senior Travel Designer

If your idea of a good time is turning “I want to see Africa” into “I had the trip of my life”, then keep reading.

If you can design a seamless safari itinerary and remember to apply the correct special, track margins, charm an agent, and still send a beautifully written email… you’re basically our spirit animal.

The Role (aka: Your Playground)

Imagine joining a legendary hospitality and conservation collective that is consistently recognized as the global gold standard for remote luxury travel, where you’ll be the creator of extraordinary journeys across Southern & East Africa. You’ll design bespoke itineraries, deliver high-touch service, execute lightning-fast turnaround times, and have the kind of product knowledge that makes people say, “How do you even know that?”

Your job is simple: Make magic. Protect margins. Keep guests and agents obsessed with you.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Service Excellence: Respond fast, communicate clearly, solve problems like a pro.
  • Itinerary Design: Craft personalised, seamless, “I can’t believe this is my life” journeys.
  • Upselling with Integrity: Spot opportunities to elevate experiences without being pushy.
  • Agent Relationship Building: Become the trusted go‑to human for your agent partners.
  • Booking Accuracy: Quote correctly, file meticulously, and keep logistics tight.
  • Operational Coordination: Work hand‑in‑hand with Ops to deliver flawless guest experiences.
  • Margin & Performance Focus: Track GP%, optimise bed nights, and keep revenue healthy.
  • Product Mastery: Stay sharp on camps, destinations, seasons, and standout experiences.
  • Systems Savvy: Use industry tools (WETU, Smartbox, Tourplan, etc.) like a seasoned pro.

Who You Are

  • Matric with Maths + a relevant Travel/Tourism/Hospitality qualification.
  • 4–5 years in senior travel design or reservations.
  • Strong itinerary planning, sales, and customer service experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication (bonus points for European languages).
  • Detail‑obsessed, organised, calm under pressure, and commercially minded.
  • Passionate about wildlife, conservation, and meaningful travel.
  • Creative, proactive, and genuinely service‑driven.

Why You’ll Love This

You get to design journeys that matter — the kind people remember forever.
You’ll deepen your destination expertise through ongoing training and fam trips.
You’ll work with humans who care about conservation, purpose, and doing things properly.
You’ll be part of a culture that values initiative, creativity, and going the extra mile.

If you’re the kind of person who…

  • Gets excited about a perfectly timed connection
  • Knows the difference between “nice itinerary” and “life-changing journey”
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, detail-heavy environment
  • Loves Africa’s wild spaces with your whole heart

…then this role was basically designed for you.
